A behavioral or physical feature of an animal that helps them better survive in their environment is called an Adaptation.
Adaptations could be physical, physiological, or behavioral.
Animals all over the world have developed unique adaptations for survival in their specific habitat.
Some awesome animal adaptations:
GIRAFFE- height, long prehensile tongues and fleshy lips
HUMMINGBIRD- long narrow beak and tongue, acrobatic flyers
CAMEL- large feet, thick hair, bushy eyelashes, food storage capacity
EAGLE- sharp, pointed beaks, powerful legs and feet, superb eye sight
SHARK- fins and a streamlined body, sharp teeth
ELEPHANT- size, ears, trunk, tusks, skin and feet
POLAR BEAR- thick white fur, bumpy feet, sharp claws
EMPEROR PENGUIN- layered of feathers, smaller beaks, blubber

Polyuria is a condition where the body urinates more than usual and passes excessive or abnormally large amounts of urine each time you urinate.
Polyuria is defined as the frequent passage of large volumes of urine – more than 3 litres a day compared to the normal daily urine output in adults of about 1 to 2 litres.
It is one of the main symptoms of diabetes (both type 1 and type 2 diabetes) and can lead to severe dehydration, which if left untreated can affect kidney function.
Causes of polyuria
Polyuria is usually the result of drinking excessive amounts of fluids (polydipsia), particularly water and fluids that contain caffeine or alcohol.
It is also one of the major signs of diabetes mellitus. When the kidneys filter blood to make urine, they reabsorb all of the sugar, returning it to the bloodstream.
In diabetes, the level of sugar in the blood is abnormally high. Not all of the sugar can be reabsorbed and some of this excess glucose from the blood ends up in the urine where it draws more water.
This results in unusually large volumes of urine.
Other causes of polyuria include:
Diabetes inspidus – a condition unrelated to diabetes mellitus that affects the kidneys and the hormones that interact with them, resulting in large quantities of urine being produced
Kidney disease
Liver failure
Medications that include diuretics (substances that increase the excretion of water from the body/urine)
Chronic diarrhoea
Cushing’s syndrome
Psychogenic polydipsia – excessive water drinking most often seen in anxious, middle-aged women and in patients with psychiatric illnesses
Hypercalcemia – elevated levels of calcium in the blood
Pregnancy
Polyuria as a symptom of diabetes
As well as being one of the symptoms of undiagnosed diabetes, polyuria can also occur in people with diagnosed diabetes if blood glucose levels have risen too high.
If blood glucose levels become too high, the body will try to remedy the situation by removing glucose from the blood through the kidneys. When this happens, the kidneys will also filter out more water and you will need to urinate more than usual as a result.
When clients reach out with concerns about intimate partner violence, they often aren’t ready to leave their abusive relationships, said Tosha Connors, CEO of My Sister’s House, a domestic abuse shelter in South Carolina.
A person’s chances of being murdered are greater when they decide to leave their abuser, Connors said, as the abuser confronts the loss of power and control over the victim. She noted that a number of factors can complicate attempts to leave, and sometimes victims need to make preparations before they can make a safe exit.
“With these abusive relationships, there has been this history of being isolated from your family and friends, from your support network,” she said, noting that people may first need to gather forms of identification that have been kept from them, such as their social security card, driver’s license or children’s birth certificates. Connors joined PBS NewsHour’s William Brangham and Michigan State University’s April Zeoli on Tuesday, June 15 to discuss the connection between guns, violence, and domestic violence.

Evening Dietary Protein Intake in the Pathogenesis of Nocturnal Polyuria
Alwis U1, Monaghan T2, Delanghe J1, Everaert K1
1. Ghent University, 2. SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University
KEYWORDS: Nocturia, Prevention, Quality of Life (QoL)
Recent research has shown that nocturnal polyuria (NP) is a heterogeneous condition that may be driven by excess nocturnal free water and/or sodium clearance. Consistently, behavioral and pharmacologic interventions targeting both nocturnal free water and sodium production have garnered considerable traction in the management of nocturia owing to NP. Relatively less attention has been afforded to urea—the most abundant urinary solute—despite the fact that urinary urea excretion is known to be highly interrelated with dietary protein intake [1]. Mechanistically, the body maintains a low concentration level of urea in both plasma and extracellular fluid, which lends to a daily urea excretion approximately two times greater the total body urea pool (and thus proportionally far greater than sodium, wherein daily excretion reflects approximately one-fifteenth of the total body sodium pool) [1]. Accordingly, it stands to reason that excretion of a large quantity of urea, as would be expected in patients following significant dietary protein intake, may reflect an additional important mediator in the pathogenesis of NP. This study aims to explore the association between NP and estimated dietary protein intake.

If you’ve set a weight loss goal or a muscle building goal, does this mean you can never have another drink of alcohol again?
There’s no doubt, that frequently drinking a lot of alcohol will negatively affect your health and weight loss goals.
Alcohol can negatively affect your testosterone levels:
Testosterone is one of the most important muscle building hormones. This is important, because a body with more lean muscle, boosts your metabolism, thus allows you to burn more calories and fat, even while at rest.
Unfortunately, excessive consumption of alcohol can negatively affect the production of testosterone. Even with just a few drinks of alcohol a day, you can lower levels of testosterone, making it much harder for you to build muscle, and ultimately lose weight.
Drinking alcohol quickly increases your calorie consumption:
As you know, drinking your calories is one of the no-no’s when it comes to weight loss.
Typically alcohol contains 7 calories for every gram.
Plus, this 7 calories per gram doesn’t include whatever you’re mixing with the alcohol with.
Most beer contains approximately 150 calories per bottle.
Drinking a 6 pack during the game adds approximately 900 extra empty calories to your diet.
Drinking 4 single rum and cokes adds approximately 1,200 extra empty calories to your diet.
On top of these empty alcohol calories, the majority of time when you’re drinking alcohol, you’re probably not snacking out of a vegetable tray.
Alcohol’s affect on your energy levels:
Whether you feel hungover or not, the next day you always pay the price for drinking too much alcohol.
If you’re like most people you would skip the gym, and go out to your favorite fast food restaurant for some greasy hangover food to make yourself feel better.
Or even if go to the gym, your strength, energy, and overall performance just seems off, even if you aren’t hungover.
If you’re looking to improve your physique, but have no aspirations to be on a cover of a magazine, and don’t have any severe health problems, you can safely enjoy 2-4 drinks of alcohol per week.
Just remember, alcohol calories do count, so don’t forget to account from them if you’re counting calories.
My go-to alcoholic preferences include:
– Red wine (I prefer pinot noir)
– Vodka water with lemon or lime
– Tequila on the rocks with lime
– An occasional beer if I’m watching sports
Which Alcohol Is Good For Weight Loss?
When it comes to alcohol that is good for weight loss, the simpler the better.
What you mix these shots with is the make or break for weight loss.
Always choose a zero calorie mixer like water and club soda, then add a splash of flavor by adding the juice of a lemon or lime.
Stay away from sugar bombs such as frozen cocktails, sugary juices, syrups, tonic, and soda as the carbohydrates will not only quickly rack up the calorie count, but the sugar crashes will also make you attack the snack tray.

Lowest Calorie Alcohol
Low Calorie Alcoholic Drinks
LEAST FATTENING Alcohol
Calories in alcoholic drinks
Low calorie alcohol
Is alcohol fattening
Would you like to know which type of alcohol is the lowest calorie alcohol? In today’s video I reveal some low calorie alcoholic drinks that will have your head spinning. Not from drinking of course, but instead from understanding so much more about alcohol and the calories in alcoholic drinks. If you’re looking for a low calorie alcohol this video will answer all your questions and then some.
Everyone knows that we have carbs, protein, and fats as macro nutrients. However, most people don’t know that Alcohol itself has calories in it. It can be looked at as a macronutrient with no nutritional value. Protein and carbohydrates each have 4 calories in 1 gram. Fat has 9 calories in 1 gram. Alcohol has a whopping 7 calories per gram. This can quickly add up as you go from tipsy, to buzzed, to drunk.
On top of the fact that its hard to find the least fattening alcohol, most alcoholic beverages are loaded up with sugar as well. Whether your mixing it with coca cola or chasing it with lemonade these are all extra calories. We want to try to avoid excess sugar calories. Therefore we should go for unflavored bottles of alcohol over flavored. If you have to have a chaser with it go for the diet sodas or the crystal light. Even though these aren’t the healthiest options they are best calorie wise.
High alcohol liquors like Everclear, vodka, and gin are the best liquors to have to lose weight. Then comes tequila, rum, whiskey, wine and beer. Wine and beer are the worst ones by far. You need a lot more wine and beer to feel the effects of the alcohol. Also they are loaded with sugar and starches. Try to avoid these when possible.
Don’t forget that drinking will stunt your muscle growth as well, which will lead to a slow down of your metabolism. Organs that were once responsible for breaking down fat are now going to be primarily responsible for breaking down and eliminating the alcohol.
Last but not least the answer to is alcohol fattening is a definite yes when you have the munchies. When you drink you will occasionally turn in to a pig and eat everything in sight. Forget about controlling yourself because you’re going to eat until you pass out. Alcohol will put your appetite through the roof.
